Author's/Editor's Biography

Hakan Tozan (Ed.)
Hakan Tozan is currently working as Professor and the Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering in the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences of Istanbul Medipol University. He is also the founder and director of the Healthcare Systems Engineering program and Healthcare Modeling and Simulation Research Group in the same institution. His research interests include decision analysis, operations research, healthcare systems optimization and health technology assessment. He acts as an adviser for some projects of Health Technologies Assessment Department of the Turkish Ministry of Health. During his academic career in the Turkish Naval Academy, he acted as the head of the Department of Industrial Engineering, as the director of Military Operations Research Program and the director of Naval Sciences and Engineering Institute.

Mumtaz Karatas (Ed.)
Mumtaz Karatas graduated from the Turkish Naval Academy in 2001. He received his MS degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan and his PhD in Industrial Engineering from Kocaeli University, Turkey. He spent two years at the Naval Postgraduate School as a visiting researcher and postdoctoral fellow between 2011 and 2013. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Industrial Engineering Department at the Turkish Naval Academy, National Defense University. His current research areas include optimization and mathematical modelling.
