Measuring the Impact of Knowledge Management
Abstract
An exploratory study in four selected organizations indicated that a varied set of indictors was being used for measuring the impact of knowledge management in these organizations. While their objectives of measurement differed, there were commonalities in emphasis on customers, people, and intangible assets. In the organization under study, measurement seems to be focusing on intellectual capital rather than the knowledge management processes. Suggestions have been put forwarded for developing comprehensive performance measures focusing more on the processes than the assets.
