Alice S. Etim

Alice S. Etim is Full Professor of Management Information Systems at Winston-Salem State University. She earned her Ph.D. from the iSchool at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA. Etim is the author/editor of Developing Countries and Technology Inclusion in the 21st Century Information Society (a 2021 book in the Advances in It Standards and Standardization Research series, IGI Global). She has published many peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. Her research areas include Information & Communication Technology (ICT) adoption, diffusion, use and impact in business organizations, project teams and at risk populations; mobile technologies for service delivery - mobile money/payment systems, mobile commerce (mCommerce), mobile health (mHealth), microfinance, and ICT for sustainable development/poverty reduction. She has had 12 years of industry work experience as Project Manager and Staff Software Engineer with IBM Corp. She holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) license since 2005. Etim is the recipient of Bravo/Publication Awards from IBM and the 2010 E. J. Josey Award for her work on the Digital Divide. She is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of ICT Research in Africa and the Middle East (IJICTRAME). She earlier served as Managing Editor and Associate Editor for the same Journal.
