Giuliano Pelfer

Giuliano Pelfer obtained PhD in Ancient Topography and Landscape Archaeology at the University of Bologna (2004). His research activity was on computational applications to archaeology. In his degree at University of Florence (1998) he analysed, through image processing techniques, the Etruscan and Roman roads in the Tarquinia territory. In PhD thesis he built an archaeological GIS for analysing the settlement evolution and the city origin in the territory of the protohistorical Tarquinia. From 2001 to 2003 he collaborated in research activities with Universitat Autonoma of Barcelona and Dublin Institute of Technology. He is researcher associated to Center for Study of Complex Dynamics at the University of Florence. First proposer of the ArchaeoGRID Project (2005 - 2006) for deploying complex archaeological applications on the Grid within EGEE, he participated to many italian and international Conferences and he published scientific papers in conference proceedings and in archaeological journals.
