Joseph Ofori-Dankwa

Joseph Ofori-Dankwa joined the SVSU faculty in 1987 and has received many of SVSU’s leading honors. He was given the House Family Award for Teacher Impact in 2000, the Rush Distinguished Lectureship in 2004, the Warrick Award for Excellence in Research in 2005, the Braun Fellowship in 2009 and the Roosevelt Ruffin Award for Diversity in 2011. A recognized scholar on modernization and democracy in Africa and diversity management, Ofori-Dankwa has authored or co-authored 5 book chapters and over 30 articles including publications in such leading management journals as Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal and Organization Science. As a visiting professor, he has taught undergraduate and graduate classes internationally in Ghana and Nigeria, as well as within the United States at Michigan State University. Ofori-Dankwa completed degrees in Ghana and Wales before receiving his Ph.D. in labor and industrial relations from Michigan State University.
