Kamini Jaipal-Jamani

Dr. Kamini Jaipal-Jamani conducts research in science education and teacher education. Her research examines the effective use of technology in teaching and learning contexts in K-12 and higher education. She has investigated how video games, gamification, blogs, and robotics are implemented in instruction. Her research also involves developing and evaluating professional development programs for science teachers and pre-service teachers. Working within the TPACK framework, she co-developed a professional development technology workshop model that promotes technology-enhanced teaching of content rather than technical skill learning. Her recent research has been published as chapters in books edited by international scholars such as: Niess, M., & Willows-Giles, H. (Eds.). Handbook of Research on Teacher Education in the Digital Age. Hershey, PA: IGI Global Publications and C. Angeli & N. Valanides (Eds.), Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge: Exploring, Developing and Assessing TPCK. New York: Springer.
