Crescenzio Gallo

Crescenzio Gallo (ACM Senior Member) received his Computer Science's degree (with honors) from the University of Bari and MSc from University of Milan (Italy). During 1978-1980 he has been at the University of Bari as a researcher in Information Systems, and with Telespazio, Rome, Italy participating to TERRA-Landsat satellite projects of European Space Agency (ESA). From 1992 to 2003 he has been a contract professor of Computer Science at the universities of Bari and Foggia. From 2004 to 2010 he has been an Assistant Professor in Applied Mathematics at the Dept. of Economics — University of Foggia, and since 2010 he is a tenured Research Professor in Information Processing Systems at the Dept. of Clinical and Experimental Medicine — University of Foggia. His primary research interests include information theory and its applications, with special emphasis on bioinformatics, machine learning and data analysis for decision-making.
