Abstract

The Internet, the Web and the multimedia technologies have modified the teaching and the learning environments. The teachers can use their own teaching materials and various kinds of didactic resource exist today. There are too many different teaching material formats. It is a pity that teachers use too much time and energy to edit their learning content. However, the similar learning content can shared with the others. In order to reuse and integrate all the resource, many distance learning standard come with the tide of fashion. To change the traditional university organization Virtual and Macro University are born. This paper describes two different examples of Web based teaching. First example, named “Cybermath”, has been developed by the author and it is a remedial course of mathematics that introduces the basis of this discipline. Second example is a program developed by the Swiss Confederation, named Swiss Virtual Campus (SVC). It supports new information and communication technology in higher education, using the Internet.
