Maria K. Koleva
Since high school I have been interesting in the field of physics and mathematics. I was among top ten at the national Olympiad in Physics in 1975. I graduated Sofia University as a Msc in theoretical physics. I continued my work in the theoretical physics by my PhD work in Lomonosov University where I defend my PhD thesis under the supervision of acad. A. R. Khokhlov.
Since 1987 I work in the Institute of Catalysis, Bulgarian Academy of Science where now I am associate professor. My field of interest becomes the study of complex systems behavior. My research is collected in the recently published book “Boundedness and Self-Organized Semantics: Theory and Applications”, published by IGI-Global, 2012. The book is cited by SCOPUS. It consists of developing a new theory called by me boundedness whose major advantages are: successful explanation of the challenges which complex system behavior poses to the traditional explanatory approach and setting a new type of intelligence called by me a semantic intelligence.
