Author's/Editor's Biography

Elif Toprak (Ed.)
Elif Toprak is an associate professor at the Open Education Faculty at Anadolu University, Turkey. Dr. Toprak has BSc, MSc, PhD degrees in the discipline of International Relations. She is a graduate of Middle East Technical University, Bilkent University and Uludag University respectively. Since 2005 she has joined the Department of Distance Education and contributed to international and national ODL research projects and international activities of the institution. She acted as Vice Dean between 2008-2011. Dr. Toprak serves at the Quality Assurance Office for the Open Education System. She has scholarly publications on internationalization of distance education, ethics in e-Learning and cultural diversity. Her research interests are international regimes, communication theories, transnational higher education and quality issues.

Evrim Kumtepe (Ed.)
Evrim Genç Kumtepe is an associate professor in the Open Education Faculty at Anadolu University, Turkey. Dr. Genç Kumtepe holds a BSc. degree in Agricultural Engineering from Ankara University in the field of Aquaculture and received her masters and doctorate degrees in the Program of Science Education at Florida State University (FSU), USA. She has also a minor degree from the Program of Measurement and Statistics at FSU. Her primary research interests focus on science and technology in education, distance science education, and interaction and communication issues in science. She is the head of Lifelong Learning Department and serves as a coordinator for the Distance Education R&D Center of Anadolu University. Dr. Genç Kumtepe has published many research papers in journals, edited book chapters, book chapters and conference proceedings. She has been involved in a number of local and international research projects over the years.
