Abstract

This chapter reviews the latest progresses of CMQL and elaborates key scientific problems in research results. Firstly, the application forms and technological characteristics of CMQL devices from traditional setting to innovative design in cutting process are analyzed. Secondly, the cooling lubrication mechanism of CMQL and its influencing mechanisms on cutting heats and force evolution as well as workpiece surface quality are disclosed. Next, the application performances of turning, milling, and grinding of typical difficult-to-process metals under CMQL are analyzed based on its action mechanism and application forms. CMQL is superior to independent use of CA or MQL in inhibiting heat-force coupling damages and improving surface quality. Finally, limitations and future development directions of CMQL are analyzed. Results can provide references to engineering application of CMQL.
