Alexander Olatunde Akolo
Alexander Akolo
is a dedicated professional with demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance, government relations, contracts administration and settlements, negotiations, research and reportage in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry. He has recently joined Nextier Power (a subsidiary of Nextier Capital Limited) as a Senior Energy Consultant. Before this role, Alexander was a Regulatory Affairs and Government Relations Manager at Nigeria’s largest electricity distribution company, Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc. Alexander has deep knowledge of the plethora of regulations and directives in the NESI. He has worked as a Technical Assistant at the Bureau of Trade and Investment and as a Contracts Management Analyst at the Embassy of Brazil and the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc, respectively. Alexander is about to complete a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Energy Studies (Renewable Energy Finance) from the University of Ibadan. He holds a M.Sc. Energy Studies degree from the University of Ibadan and a B.Sc. Economics degree from the University of Jos. He has attended several energy conferences within and outside Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigerian Association of Energy Economics (NAEE), the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and the Energy Institute.
