Alice Ncube

Alice Ncube is the current program director, an associate professor, trainer, and researcher at the University of the Free State (UFS), Disaster Management Training and Education Center for Africa (DiMTEC, South Africa. With more ten years’ experience in disaster (risk) management, her research interests are social vulnerability and climate change, international forced migration, gender issues, climate change and adaptation resilience and sustainable livelihoods of disadvantaged communities. She holds a PhD in disaster management, a masters in disaster management and postgraduate diploma in gender studies from the University of the Free State, South Africa among other qualifications form the University of Zimbabwe (B A General) , National University of Science and Technology (NUST) (Postgraduate diploma in Disaster and development Studies. She is an accredited Sphere trainer and an editorial team member of Jamba Journal of Disaster Risk Studies. Alice Ncube is the current secretary of the African Union Commission (AUC) African Science and Technology Group (AfSTAG) for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).
