Ayanna D. Perry

Ayanna Perry , PhD, is an Associate Director for the Teaching Fellows Program at the Knowles Teacher Initiative that supports beginning high school math and science teachers across the nation to explore what equitable teacher practice looks like in their contexts and to engage in practitioner inquiry to generate and share knowledge about their work towards creating more equitable spaces for students and colleagues. She’s published a number of blogs, journal articles, and books that focus on issues of equity, access, and norms development across several platforms. A former high school mathematics teacher, her areas of interest include equity in the mathematics classroom, increasing opportunities for teacher learning using norms and protocols, modeling vulnerability in teacher mentorship, and practitioner inquiry.
