Dilinna Lucy Nwobi

Dilinna Lucy Nwobi is a McArthur foundation Scholar at the Centre for Petroleum Energy Economics and Law (CPEEL) (Now Department of Minerals, Petroleum, Economics and Law) at the University of Ibadan. A multidisciplinary researcher with a bachelor’s degree in Computer science, master’s in Computer systems and master’s in Energy Finance respectively. She has been part of several research works including The Ajibode Household Energy Consumption Survey and the Household Energy and Health Workshop where she headed the survey (instrument) design and administration team. Her PhD research area is Energy finance with a particular interest in the dynamics of Public Finance and the Macroeconomics of Government Budgets. Her research objective is to evaluate the existing variance, relationship and causality between the Federal fiscal budget and the actuals of Nigeria’s budget and make forecasts based on historic data from the FGN Budget framework. The contribution of this research to knowledge is an insight into the dynamics of Nigeria's government budget design and performance based on revenue sources and the budget forecast options using empirical methods and data. Her other interests include the Energy Policy formulation to ensure sustainability via energy security in Sub-Saharan Africa. She is currently a member of various professional bodies, including the Nigerian Association of Energy Economists and the Nigerian Computer Society.
