Ilja Steffelbauer
Ilja Steffelbauer
studied history and ancient history at the University of Vienna and Athens. His work within his original disciplines ranged from the topography and institutional history of ancient Attica to ephemeral films as sources for the urban history of Vienna, with publications on the social history of warfare, global history, and environmental history. At the Institute of Social and Economic History of the University of Vienna he focused on teacher education and was editor in chief of the journal “Historische Sozialkunde” for history and political education. Switching his career focus to science management and project administration in science he has worked for the Institute for Social and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Vienna and now for the Faculty of Business and Globalization at the University of Continuing Education, Krems. He continues to be active in continuing education for teachers and publishes on the history of warfare, food history and social evolution.
