Jacqueline Cotton
Jacqueline (Jay) Cotton
is a public school special education teacher with 14 years of classroom teaching experience across all levels of the continuum and curriculum. Currently, she teaches high school students with extensive support needs in North Carolina. Her previous teaching experience has included teaching K-2 students with autism in a separate setting, co-teaching high school mathematics, and teaching in elementary resource and inclusion settings. She has also served in a school-based leadership role as department chair and has provided mentorship to numerous new special education teachers throughout her career. Jay was honored as her school’s Teacher of the Year for the 2020-2021 school year.
