Julia E. Kiernan
Julia Kiernan
is an Assistant Professor of Communication and Director of Technical and Professional Communication in the department of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Communication at Lawrence Technological University. Her current research is framed within environmental justice and humanities; her primary theoretical frames, seated within humanities scholarship, are rhetorical listening, narrative theory, and trauma studies. Dr. Kiernan's research methodology is active research, which focuses on the impacts of listening, reflection, and feedback throughout learning processes. Her publications have appeared in a number of edited collections, and journals such as Composition Studies, Communication & Language at Work and L1-Educational Studies in Language and Literature.
