Khairul Ismed
reseacher in the field of employment and industrial relations. Started professional career at the Ministry of Manpower in 1995 as a labour inspector, managing and overseeing the implementation of labour norms including in the maritime sector. He held a strategic position, namely head of the program and budget planning department at the Ministry of Manpower, for a six-year period (2011–2017) before joining BRIN in 2022. He was involved in strategic projects: in 2019, he researched the Protection of Workers in the Maritime Sector in the Framework of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), in 2020, he researched Indonesia's Readiness to Ratify ILO Convention No. 188 of 2007, and in 2021, he researched the Protection of migrant workers based on procedural contracts (Migrant Workers Rights-Based on Employment Contract Under ASEAN Secretariat).
