Malia Spofford Xavier
Malia Spofford Xavier
has served as Assistant Provost at Keuka College since July 2022 and oversees general education, academic standards and policies, and academic success and support initiatives. Prior to her administrative appointment, Dr. Spofford Xavier successfully served as Middle States Self-Study Co-Chair and General Education Coordinator. As an Associate Professor, she has taught courses in Spanish language, Latin American literature, and intercultural communication. She also taught Applied Linguistics at the Federal University of Ouro Preto in Brazil. Prior to her academic career she served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
