Md Ikhtiar Uddin Bhuiyan
Md. Ikhtiar Uddin Bhuiyan
is an Associate Professor in the Department of Government and Politics at Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Right now, he is pursuing his PhD degree in Governance and Development under Graduate School of Public Administration, National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), Bangkok, Thailand. Apart from this academic rule, he served as an advisor for Transparency International of Bangladesh (TIB), Yes Group, and Jahangirnagar University. Mr. Ikhtiar joined the department in 2016 as a lecturer. Since joining as a lecturer, he has been actively involved in research, teaching, and administrative activities with sincerity and dedication. Prior to joining the department, he worked in the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) since 2014, and before joining BCS, he also served in the Customs Department as a Customs Officer. In addition, he also worked in the Ministry of Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) as a protocol officer. Moreover, he worked for the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh as a senior officer. In 2018, Mr. Ikhtiar went to Japan for his advanced-level second Master's degree on public policy and returned in September 2019 after successfully completing his Master's degree from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan. His main areas of research are Public Policy, South Asian Dynamics of Politics, and governance issues. He has published papers in journals such as the Springer Nature, USBED Journal of Turkey, The Jahangirnagar Review, the CENRAPS Journal of Social Science, and the Asian Studies Journal. He also presented seven research papers at different international conferences, including the International Political Science Association (IPSA) Congress in Portugal. Currently, he is a member of the International Political Science Association (IPSA) and the China-Bangladesh Mutual Friendship Trade Center Limited. Moreover, he is also a member of the Japanese Universities Alumni Association of Bangladesh (JUAAB).
