Mousin Omarsaib
Mousin Omarsaib
is a PhD [Information Systems - LIS], MIS [Information Studies], Hons BA [Information Science]. Currently employed as a Subject Librarian and a guest lecturer for the Library Services and Department of Information Systems respectively at the Durban University of Technology in South Africa. He has been instrumental at the Durban University of Technology libraries in pioneering blended learning, online teaching, and mentoring of library staff. He has mentored and trained staff at various levels imparting pertinent skills for their professional development in multimodal environments. His interest includes using digital tools such as learning management systems, Microsoft applications, immersive learning techniques, gamification, and active learning styles for multimodal teaching environments. His research interests include digital pedagogies, e-learning, gamification, knowledge management, indigenous knowledge, and meta-literacies.
