Nathan E. Harrison

Nathan E. Harrison is the husband to Mackenzie and father to two. He is the Curriculum Director for the Utah School for the Deaf. He attended Utah State University for a Bachelor's in Mathematics Education and a Master's in Deaf Education in the former Bi-Bi program. Nathan began his professional career at the New Mexico School for the Deaf in Santa Fe, NM, as a math teacher and later an assistant principal. He earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of New Mexico. While working on his doctorate, Nathan became assistant director of the Jean Massieu School of the Deaf, a campus of the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind in Salt Lake City, UT. He focused on initiatives for school improvement, personalized learning, Culturally Sustaining Deaf Pedagogy, and Deaf-focused learning strategies. Post-COVID, Dr. Harrison became the Curriculum Director for USD, supporting divisions for curriculum, instruction, staff development, transition programming, and training.
