Peter Podgorelec
Peter Podgorelec
graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana, where he also obtained his PhD, and completed his Master's studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Maribor. He worked as a judicial trainee at the Higher Court in Maribor, and after passing the State Bar Examination he joined the court as a legal assistant. He then worked for three years as a district judge at the District Court in Maribor, and has since September 2004 been employed at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Maribor. He has been habilitated to the rank of associate professor in the field of law. He is the head of the Institute of Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law in Maribor, and is one of the chairpersons of the State Examination Board for administrators of insolvency proceedings, and a lecturer in the course of trainings for the award of professional titles, organised by the Slovenian Institute of Auditors. He is the (co)author of the Great Commentary on the Companies Act (GV Publishing 2022), the monographs Limited Liability Company (GV Publishing 2009), Supervisory and Management Boards (GV Publishing, 2010), Information Rights of Shareholders (GV Publishing, 2007), Group of companies (GV Publishing, 2021), and Introductory Explanatory Notes to the Amendment to the Companies Act (ZGD-1K, Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, 2021). He has published numerous scientific and professional articles in the field of corporate law and participated in scientific conferences at home and abroad.
