Rupayan Roy

Rupayan Roy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Technology at the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Kannur, India. He received his Ph.D. in Textile Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2020, where he focused on the influence of fibre orientation on needle punched nonwoven properties. His research interests include textile structure, fibrous composites, protective textiles, and 2D and 3D woven textile structures. Dr. Roy has worked as a Teaching Assistant and Early Doc Research Scholar at IIT Delhi before joining as an Assistant Professor at the Technological Institute of Textile and Sciences Bhiwani. He has published numerous research papers and presented his work at various national and international conferences. Currently, he teaches and conducts research at NIFT Kannur, where he aims to contribute to the development of the Indian textile industry through his expertise in textile engineering.
