Serit Banyan
Serit Banyan
is a lecturer and Stream Coordinator for MPU modules in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Taylor's University, where he has been a school member since 2011. His expertise is online learning, technology in education, and pedagogy. Serit is also a multi-award-winning lecturer as he received numerous awards and recognitions for his teaching and learning innovations. At the university level, Serit received awards and recognitions for his excellence in teaching and learning, such EMAS Award, Taylor's President Award and Taylor's Distinguish e-Learning Educator Award. He is also a three-time award winner at the International University Carnival on e-Learning, where in 2018 he received the Best e-Learning Facilitator Award, 2019 he received the Best e-Learning Product Award and 2021 he received Best Trend-Setter Award. He also one of the winners of Anugerah Pemikiran Semula dan Rekabentuk Kurikulum Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia in 2017. In 2018, Serit is selected as a finalist of QS-Wharton Reimagine Education Award organized by QS Quacquarelli Symonds. Serit also selected as a finalist of Anugerah Akademik Negara ke-14. In addition, Serit also won numerous medal awards from IUCEL and ECONDEV. As an expert in redesigning higher education, Serit was appointed by the Ministry of Higher Education to be a national committee member for several committees such as MPU, SULAM and AKRI. He also appointed as a jury for several competitions related to innovation in teaching and learning such as ECONDEV, AKRI, IUCEL and QS-Wharton Reimagine Education Award.
