Soubantika Palchoudhury

Soubantika Palchoudhury is an Assistant Professor in the Civil and Chemical Engineering Department of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Her research focuses on developing new nanoscale architectures, understanding their structure-property relations, and their interactions with the environment. She has been a faculty member at UTC since 2015. Prior to joining UTC, she did three years of postdoctoral research at The University of Alabama, the University of South Carolina, and at Yale University. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Alabama in 2012 and bachelors in Chemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India in 2008. Her work aims to integrate material science and biological methods to engineer smart nanoparticles for therapeutic, energy, and environmental applications. She has published 26 papers and four book chapters. Her research has featured as a cover art in Chem Comm and has been highlighted in Nature. She has won state grants and has several established national and international research collaborations. She is a reviewer for a number of nanoscience journals such as APL, JAP, Dalton Transac., Langmuir, RSC Adv., and ES&T.
