Srijit Panja
is an AI practitioner, currently serving as a Machine Learning Engineer in the Consulting wing of Saras Analytics in Hyderabad, India. He was previously associated as a Data Scientist with Cognida.ai and, before that, worked with S-O-T-A AI in Healthcare during his tenure at Nggawe Nirman Technologies, which has now been acquired by Infogain. He specializes in the domain of Natural Language Processing and is an active publisher of AI for social good. He was a United Nations Volunteer for a brief period in 2021 with the SDG AI Lab, IICPSD Turkey, where he leveraged Natural Language Processing for Disaster Management. He also actively contributes to simplified AI education as a Faculty Member with several ed-tech companies. His major contribution to healthcare was Vilokana – The Indian AI Covid Search Engine, which was operational during the first wave of Covid in India. Providing easy access to and multi-dimensional insights from the rapidly evolving research on all medical aspects of the pandemic targeted at fast solution-finding, the tool was highlighted in national and international media and was featured in The Nature Journal in the list of 'Artificial Intelligence Tools to tame the Coronavirus Literature'.
