Sukran Kilic

Şükran Kiliç completed her undergraduate education at Hacettepe University, Department of Psychology, her master's degree at Middle East Technical University (METU), Department of Developmental Psychology, and her PhD at Gazi University, Department of Child Development and Education. She completed her postdoctoral education at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) Department of Developmental Psychology and Social Emotional Development Laboratory with TUBITAK Scholarship within the framework of examining parental emotional socialisation from a cross-cultural perspective and its reflection on children's social and emotional competencies. She has worked as an expert psychologist in many national and international projects such as violence in school and family, vocational guidance, school guidance programmes, education of the gifted in the General Directorate of Special Education Guidance Services of the Ministry of National Education. She has carried out individual study and research visits organised by different international organisations, especially the Council of the EU, on vocational guidance, violence against children, etc. in Portugal, Germany, France, Switzerland, and has made studies on the education of gifted in South Korea. She gave undergraduate courses at Gazi University, Department of RPD. Since 2012, she has been working in the Department of Preschool Education at Aksaray University, has written articles on teacher and parent emotion socialisation, beliefs towards emotion, written and edited book chapters on child mental health, developmental psychology, family therapy, preschool education, emotion socialisation, children and media, and has given seminars and trainings on these issues in Turkey and abroad. She continues to work in these fields. She has also completed theoretical and supervision trainings in the fields of Family Therapy, Child, Adolescent and Family Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Child Adolescent EMDR (Level I) psychotherapy.
