Scotty D. Craig

Scotty D. Craig is an Assistant Professor in the Human Systems Engineering Program within the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU). He is the supervising faculty member for the Cognitive-Based Applied Learning Technology Laboratory ( at ASU and the Co-Director of the Advanced Distributed Learning Partnership Lab at Arizona State University ( He received his PhD in experimental psychology with a specialization in cognitive psychology from the University of Memphis and served as a postdoctoral fellow with the Pittsburgh Science of Learning Center at the University of Pittsburgh/ Carnegie Melon University. His goal is to provide cutting-edge research at the intersection of human cognition, technology, and the learning sciences that provides solutions to real-world problems within education and training. His research interests encompass understanding the implementation of multimedia educational environments, including such features as emotions, dialog, interaction, and cognition.
