Description

From theoretical and practical viewpoints, the application of intelligent software agents is a topic of major interest. There has been a growing interest not only in new methodologies for development of intelligent software agents, but also the way in which these methodologies can be supported by theories and practice. Intelligent Agent Software Engineering focuses on addressing the theories and practices associated with implementing intelligent software agents.

Reviews and Testimonials

This book provide the designers of multiagent systems with a valuable collections of chapters -- each written by specialists in their areas. It is a great way to get state-of-the-art thinking from leading-edge practitioners.

– Jim Odell, James Odell Associates, USA

This book is a collection of chapters by different authors related to Agents and Multi-agent systems that are recent hot subjects in the research and the commercial areas. Although, agent technology seems to offer many advantages compared to traditional approaches, currently practitioners seem to follow ad-hoc approaches. This book contributes to the community of researchers and practitioners by giving a disciplined approach for developing agent-based and multi-agent-based systems, following intelligent software engineering techniques. The book covers a variety of areas, both theoretical, such as machine learning and evolutionary and genetic computation, formal methods, knowledge management, A-life, and practical, such as E-commerce and development of multi-agent systems.

– Constantin Halatsis, Professor of Computer Science, University of Athens, Greece
