Flourishing on Campus: Promoting Mental Health and Coping Skills in Higher Education Institutions
Abstract
Mental health concerns among college students have become a growing issue in higher education institutions worldwide. The transition to college life often comes with various stressors, such as academic pressure, social adjustments, and financial challenges, which can negatively impact students' well-being. To address this issue, higher education institutions are increasingly focusing on promoting mental health and coping skills to foster student flourishing. This abstract explores the importance of implementing initiatives and programs that support mental health and coping skills on college campuses. Firstly, it is essential to understand the concept of flourishing, which encompasses positive emotions, engagement, meaning, positive relationships, and accomplishment. Promoting flourishing on campus involves creating an environment that not only addresses mental health issues but also nurtures students' overall well-being.
