Social Support and the Psychosocial Adjustment of Internally Displaced Students
Abstract
This study investigated social support and the psychosocial adjustment of internally displaced students. It used the correlational survey research design with a purposive sample of 236 students. A questionnaire was employed to collect data from the students. Data gathered was statistically analyzed using descriptive statistics while the Spearman rank-order correlation coefficient was used to test the research hypotheses. The findings of the study indicated that there was a very significant and positive relationship between peer support and psychosocial adjustment by internally displaced students. Findings equally affirmed that there was a very significant and positive relationship between counselors' support and psychosocial adjustment by internally displaced students.
