Abstract

Workplace digital transformation represents a “double disruption”: the response to the digital transformation needs of the business, while simultaneously addressing the rapid technological changes that are reshaping work environments. Many organizations' performance and survival challenges require dynamic capabilities and tools to accelerate the acquisition of those capabilities. Considering this context, the idea of the workplace as a valuable learning environment has regained prominence, reflourishing the concept of a learning organization. In today's landscape, learning organizations should devise a technology-based mechanism to advance their organizational learning efforts. Learning technologies are positioned as an enabler that provides learning opportunities. This chapter navigates throughout the diverse learning technologies being used by organizations. In recognition of the vital role successful learning technology implementation plays in organizations, it also assesses the current state of implementations and outlines the primary strategies organizations should prioritize.
